Proclamation

Aiden Thorn and his fellow Genesians have been settled at their new camp called Esperanza for about two months now. They had fled the planet Hathor once all their legal battles proved of no use and kept them a virtual slaves to the Lakshmi-Kitai (LKI) Corporation. Their departure didn’t go off peacefully since the general human population didn’t understand what or who these Genensians were. They wouldn’t listen to reason even when told that Genesians were humans just residing in a different kind of body. Each one of the Genesians had been through a catastrophic accident that would normally have ended their lives. Yet, through the efforts of one particular scientist and doctor, Doctor Sengupta, what remained of their bodies were placed in mechanical shells. Many still had hearts and brains and other vital organs but all this was supported by a new body that was completely different from normal humans.

The Genesians were not Androids which were called the Deimers, but they now owed their continued existence to these Androids. The Deimers came in strength to rescue the Genesians from New Brisbane when it appeared they were all going to go back under Lakshmi-Kitai control or even worse, but killed by other humans. Unlike the Genesians, the Deimers professed not to be human and even detested the very idea. They called humans meat sacks and were very much against having living humans around if they could help it. So, the Deimers had built their own civilization and this planet that Aiden Thorn and his fellow Genesians found themselves on was a Deimer strong hold. Strangely, the Deimers wanted to have the Genesians around. They were offering their support for everything if the Genesians would ally with them in their struggle to survive.

The Genesians didn’t feel they had any other way to live until they could get the normal human population to come to their senses and recognize who they were. So, they needed to set up their own civilization/society and do the best they could. They would start here in Camp Esperanza and see what their future would be.

Still, the only thing the Deimers asked of the Genesians was to fight with them to obtain the necessary resources so both could live as they pleased. This seemed like a reasonable condition especially after how the LKI Corp. had treated them for a long time. Aiden Thorn was a former Union Marine and most recently a New Brisbane Police Office so he knew how to fight and defend people. For some reason, he had become the contact point between the Deimers and the Genesians. Aiden didn’t necessarily want that position, but that’s how things had turned out so he was making the best of it.

Currently he was training a new group of Genesians in how to fight. Most of these people had never been in the military. They had been doing a wide variety of work when they had their catastrophic accident, but now they had almost indescribable bodies and they needed to learn how to fight. So Aiden and other veterans had been tasked to start forming a Genesians defense force from the 30,000 that had fled to Camp Esperanza. Aiden knew that their fighting for resources could very well bring them in to contact with humans, but if these humans were working for LKI Corp. then they were fair game as far as he and other Genesians felt. They would try to minimized the amount of killing if they could, but if they needed the resources and LKI had them, then they were going to fight.

Most of the initial missions the Deimers had asked them to participate in were not that difficult and gave Aiden and his other veterans a chance to battle test his new warriors. Some did well while others did not, but so far they hadn’t had anyone killed. That was mostly due to all the Genesians having hardened shells protecting their vital human organs.

One thing that kind of bothered Aiden was that the Deimers were not real forthcoming on how many and what resources they actually controlled. He knew the Deimers had something of an army with dropships and even starships, but he wasn’t sure about how many. He also wondered if they had other planets settled or other operating bases and just how many fighters, dropships and starships did they have? Because Aiden knew the Deimers hated humans, he was concerned about just how powerful the Deimers were becoming and what were they planning on doing with that power!

Then when things seemed to be going well, the Deimers started reporting that some of their bases were being attacked by mostly Lakshmi-Kitai forces with mercenaries. Even the most recent mission that Aiden had gone on, it seemed the LKI forces were waiting in ambush for them. It began to appear that someone was selling out both the Deimers and the Genesians. They had a spy among them and needed to find out who it was.

Eventually, you’ll also find the Deimers and Genesians meeting with the Vial, a manufactured race of people that had again been created by people and then turned on when they were found less than useful. These Vial were specifically built to be warriors when needed, but to be peaceful when not in war. Aiden is going to find out very soon that the Vial are going to be very hard to ally with especially when they go to battle.

Ok, so this book did have a lot going for it. But, there’s something else going on that we only get a glimpse of during the latter chapters. I’m not sure who or what the Deimers have controlling them but it’s not going to be pleasant. We’ll find out more in the next book, “Retribution”, now available on Amazon.
